Watercolour Painting Workshop:

Course Tutor: Francesca Harrison

This workshop is suited to total beginners or those with some previous experience. The workshop will focus on developing your confidence in using watercolour medium and teaching you how to obtain the best results working on still life and landscape painting.

You will be based in the beautiful traditional Cretan village of Vamos, surrounded by stunning countryside and majestic mountains. In addition the village has many historically-rich buildings with some wonderful architecture. The workshop will take place between 10 am – 1 pm with the afternoon free to either practice on your own or to enjoy this beautiful area and find inspiration for your painting.

What you will need:

Necessary:

Wear comfortable clothing and footwear (you may come across some rough tracks when out looking for your perfect subject matter).  A sun hat is also a good idea.

Optional:

You can bring your own brushes and paints or, alternatively, they can be provided at an additional cost of 3 Euros per day (payable locally).

What is included:

5 days [10am – 1pm] introduction to painting with watercolours.
(Workshops covering 1 to 4 days are also available)
Individual and group tuition
Painting boards
Good quality watercolour paper
Drawing equipment
Masking tape
Review of your work
Morning tea/coffee will be provided

About Francesca:

Francesca has been an artist all her life and 10 years ago achieved her lifelong ambition to come and work in the inspirational environment of this wonderful island. Since moving here she has been selling her watercolours both here and abroad and has given regular workshops. She has also held several exhibitions and works a great deal to commission.  She finds the light and the colours of Crete translate ideally into the medium of watercolour.

You will enjoy working with Francesca, she is very approachable and is able to bring the best out in her students.
