Music – Songwriting and Recording Workshops

Course Tutor: Phil Harrison

Maximum participants: 4

This workshop is suitable for people with some music experience: you do need to be able to play an instrument or sing reasonably competently.

You will spend 3 hours each day for 5 days in the company of a professional musician and songwriter in his studio, trying out ideas, discussing musical approaches and recording things from time to time. The workshop content depends very much on the aspirations of the individual participants.

You may bring a guitar or any other instrument. You will have the use of a keyboard and a 160 track recording studio.

Group self-critical sessions, an explanation of the basics of recording ‘real’ instruments (we do not cover sampling and such), and a chance to hear yourself recorded are all features of the workshop.

The workshop will take place between 11 am – 2 pm (Wednesday to Monday with Sunday free) in Phil’s studio which is situated in a lovely Cretan village close to Vamos. You will have the rest of the day free to enjoy this beautiful area and most likely find inspiration for your next day in the studio.

(Workshops of shorter durations are available)
